to those present. The event is moderated by Nicolae Marinescu, director of Aius Publishing House.
„Pietroienii” is a surprising micro-novel in its writing maturity and confidence, all the more so as the author is only fourteen years old. Jonathan Agostino Ottobrino, already noted for his previous works, continues his literary journey with an energetic, cinematic prose. The lively dialogues, the strongly visual scenes, and the attention to character psychology give the text a unique vibration.
The title refers both to the setting, the village of Pietroaia, and to the people who inhabit it. A sunburned community, severely tested, sculpted as if from stone. The name suggests hardness, deep roots, and a world that withstands time.
In this tense space, between tradition and the dream of escape, the Medregan family becomes the nucleus of a story about loyalty, work, love, rivalries, and destiny.
If in the previous novel the author oriented himself towards the Italian space and the genealogy of the Ottobrini Dynasty, in this book he turns his gaze to the local rural environment, surprising the world of the Romanian village with authenticity, warmth, and a lucidity rarely found at this age.
The style of the young author impresses with the rare instinct to transform rural reality into a powerful and coherent narrative. „Pietroienii” shows not only the author’s evolution but also his ability to change narrative registers, moving from the Italian saga to the deep fiber of the Romanian village. – (Carmen Theo Făgețeanu, critical appreciations, cover 4).
The event will take place starting at 16:00, in the „Acad. Dinu C. Giurescu” hall of the Aman County Library.
