County Library “Alexandru and Aristia Aman” hosts on Thursday, November 27, the launch of the volume “Writers and Journalists from Oltenia in Creative Exile”, a volume whose authors are: Liliana Corobca, Rodica Păvălan, Maria Vaida, Carmen Făgețeanu, Carmen Pogonici, Camelia Zăbavă, and it is coordinated by Mihaela Albu.
About this volume will speak Mihaela Albu, Rodica Păvălan and Andrada Cojocaru. The event moderator is Mircea Pospai.
“In the volume we are offering to interested readers (this being the first in a series dedicated to exiles – writers and journalists – belonging to all historical Romanian regions), we wanted to present a mirror (as integrative as possible) of those from the Oltenia area, of those who, born in one of the five current counties that belong to the region, have lived and written far from the places where they were born, from the country ultimately.
They are part of what can be called creative exile, a phrase we borrowed from Alexandru Tomescu and George Băjenaru that most aptly designates the group of Romanian intellectuals who have made their mark on foreign soil, never renouncing their origin.” – Mihaela Albu, coordinator of the volume.
The event will take place starting at 12:00, in the “Acad. Dinu C. Giurescu” hall of the Aman County Library.
