The “Alexandru and Aristia Aman” County Library is pleased to invite you to a special literary event dedicated to one of the most original and appreciated voices of contemporary Romanian prose: Doina Ruști.
During the meeting, the author’s most recent novels will be presented: “Zavaidoc,” “Ferenike,” and “Platanos,” books that explore with remarkable narrative force the cultural memory, the mysteries of identity, and the subterranean depths of human passions.
“Zavaidoc” captures the fate of one of the most charismatic lăutari
of the interwar period, transforming his legend into a vibrant novel about art, love, and freedom.
“Ferenike” is built around a memorable heroine, through which themes of powerful femininity, historical ruptures, and self-recovery are explored.
“Platanos” is a dystopian novel aimed at young people, proposing an unexpected world in which freedom and identity are put to the test through a fast-paced, captivating, and imaginative story.
About these volumes and Doina Ruști’s unmistakable storytelling appetite, literary critic Mihai Ene will speak, offering the audience reading and interpretation benchmarks. The event will be moderated by literary critic Carmen Theo Făgețeanu, host of a lively dialogue between author, book, and reader.
To complete the atmosphere, we will be taken on a sonic journey into the world of the interwar period, through musical moments offered by artists Mircea Suchici, Liviu and Dragoș Ploae.
The event will take place on Tuesday, November 11, starting at 5:00 PM, in the “Acad. Dinu C. Giurescu” hall of the “Alexandru and Aristia Aman” County Library.
