The “Alexandru and Aristia Aman” County Library, through the Mediatheque Section and American Corner Craiova, is organizing a series of educational events from February to April 2026, titled “American Speeches That Changed the World”.
The program aims to bring to the public’s attention emblematic speeches
from the history of the United States of America, which have profoundly influenced society, democracy, and international relations, highlighting the power of the word and the role of public discourse in shaping the contemporary world.
The speaker for the series of events is Ms. Narcisa Duncă, journalist and TeleU reporter, who will provide participants with a documented and accessible perspective on the historical context, the message, and the impact of these speeches on global society.
The events are part of the series of programs organized to celebrate 20 years of American Spaces in Romania, marking two decades of promoting education, intercultural dialogue, and democratic values. The program is sponsored by the annual grant provided by the United States Department of State.
Through this initiative, the “Alexandru and Aristia Aman” County Library, via American Corner Craiova, reaffirms its mission to support civic education, critical thinking, and the understanding of the role that history and public discourse play in building an informed, secure, and prosperous society.
