The “Alexandru and Aristia Aman” County Library, through the Media Library Section and American Corner Craiova, invites history and culture enthusiasts to the “American History” book exhibition, dedicated to defining moments and personalities in the history of the United States of America.
The exhibition is open from January 14–30, 2026, and offers visitors the opportunity to discover essential milestones of American evolution, highlighting the values that underpin American excellence: the spirit of innovation, leadership, courage, freedom, and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities.
Among the representative books included in the exhibition are:
- They Made America – Harold Evans

- Winning the Wild West – Page Stegner
- D-Day June 6, 1944: The Climactic Battle of World War II – Stephen E. Ambrose
- Independence Hall – Charlene Mires
- Mapping the West – Paul E. Cohen
The book selection reflects key moments in the history of the United States, from the formation of the nation and westward expansion, to America’s decisive role in defending democracy and the values of freedom on a global scale.
The exhibition is organized in the context of the America 250 celebration, marking 250 years since the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence, a historic event that underscores the lasting impact of American ideals on the development of modern societies.
By organizing this exhibition, American Corner Craiova and the Media Library Section aim to promote knowledge of American history, intercultural dialogue, and access to quality educational resources, contributing to building an informed perspective on the values that define American excellence, progress, and leadership.
The exhibition can be visited in the Media Library Section space, during the library’s operating hours, and admission is free.
